Wijit Gadget Power-Assist Modification
Due to be commercially available later this year, the Wijit by Superquad promises to be the “next evolution in wheelchair mobility.”
The original widget was a lever system that worked with the stock wheels on a wheelchair to improve braking, accelaration and steering.
With the new Wijit, the original lever system is built into the hub of a wheel. The new Wijit offers the following …
- Gearing - with adjustable ratios to optimize any individual user’s particular pushing abilities.
- Built-in disc brakes - provide a fine degree of steering control and amazing stopping power.
- Driver handle mode switch - to easily switch between forward, reverse, and neutral.
Superquad claims that the new Wijit will only add an inch to the overall width of the wheelchair.
Perhaps the Wijit could also aid in decreasing the risk of carpal tunnel syndrome to wheelchair users since it appears that less wrist action would be required.

I have a invacare tracer plus series 1000 manual wheelchair …. I am not strong enough to propel myself by using only the hand rims.
do you have a manual assisting device that I can attach to my chair that would make it easier for me to get around on my own ???
do you offer assistance in contacting MEDICARE AND OTHER INSURANCE for financial assistance in payment for the device ?

im in australia and i want to know how much the lever chair is,, i have to try to raze money some how to donate this wheelchair to my mates som he is 11 and very over wheight now,, as he got cancer of the spine when he was 8 and he never walked again,, i teach him some wheelchiar martial arts and he loves it,, so now im on a mission to get one of these chairs for him.. his name is kane horn and we are in perth western australia..thank you for your assistance on the chiar and price..ralphy
